Elior UK has invested £600,000 in the catering facilities at SOAS, University of London transforming the school’s existing refectory into a contemporary, customer focused space.
The school newly revamped and extended refectory will feature a coffee bar providing Fairtrade and eco friendly coffee, a seating area with Wifi workstations and 5 serving areas offering a wide range of healthy and affordable food options.
Paul Fisher, Director of Education for Elior UK, said: “We’ve developed an exciting food offer that will attract students to stay on-site and enjoy the facilities. The new Purple Pepper counter offers vegetarian and vegan only food, while Love Smoothies provides fresh, healthy juices and smoothies that are made right in front of the customers.
“We’re also launching &Cake which boasts a delicious selection of cakes, pastries and biscuits, and students will be able to enjoy Heavenly Burger and Pizza Foundry where gourmet burgers and freshly made pizzas come as standard. Deli-concept Go Sasa, build your own soup offer Umami and ChU a street food offer based on Malaysian, Indian, Oriental, American and North African cuisine will also be available.”
Mike Haddon, Head of Facilities Management adds: “We awarded Elior the five-year deal to provide our catering last year and we are delighted to see the results. Our students can now enjoy a fresh, varied menu which rivals that offered on the high street.”
SOAS believes strongly in recycling and as part of the re-vamp a food waste recycling scheme is due to launch later this year.
