The newly named One Under Lime will see Elior boost its annual turnover by an estimated £1m.
ELIOR UK – the contract catering specialist – has just launched a wine bar underneath landmark insurance site Lloyd’s of London, in the heart of the City’s Square Mile.
The newly named One Under Lime will see Elior boost its annual turnover by an estimated £1m.
In a move to position the site as the new bar for the City, Elior has set out to dazzle with a wine list compiled by the co-founder of Hotel du Vin, Gerard Basset. Gerard - who was crowned the World’s Best Sommelier in 2010 - will continue to work with the catering giant to regularly refresh its top-class wine offer.
Since its takeover from Corney & Barrow, the venue has undergone a complete overhaul with the installation of a new bar, fittings and kitchen. Ian Crabtree, City Operations Director, Elior UK said: “We wanted to create a sleek, contemporary new look inspired by the iconic status of the building which it is situated below.
“Everything in the bar from its design to the wine and food offering and the premium levels of service, have been created with the aim of being able to deliver the very best customer experience.”
The bar, which is open to the public as well as the employees of Lloyds, can accommodate up to 120 guests. It also houses the only terrace and patio area in Leadenhall Market where people can enjoy food and drink in the sunshine.
Award-winning Elior Executive Chef Hayden Groves has developed a new food offer for the bar inspired by modern British classics. Home-made Scotch eggs, hand-carved ham and duck eggs, Welsh rarebit and Shepherd’s Pie made with braised-shoulder of lamb are just some of the dishes diners will see on the menu.
Elior UK provides all other catering facilities at Lloyds, which offers 38 meeting rooms, a food hall seating 650, banqueting for 330, cocktail parties for up to 700 and a unique fine-dining room with seats 86 covers.
