Elior UK’s retail team at Portsmouth Naval Base is celebrating after scooping first and second place in a competition to support the launch of Rollover Hotdogs’ new breakfast sausage.
The nationwide challenge was one of a series of monthly upselling competitions, organised by Elior, to help grow the average spend per customer in its defence sector retail shops.
Clare Cady, retail manager for the HMS Nelson Londis Shop, and Sarah Gibbins, retail manager for The Old Laundry Shop, were awarded first and second place, while Mandy Garlick and her team from the Colerne army barracks secured third place.
Rollover supported the sites with new marketing and signage along with badges for the teams to wear. Robert Aggrey, Rollover channel manager, visited Portsmouth to present the team’s prizes of Amazon vouchers and cinema tickets.
Angela Wyer, contract director for Portsmouth Naval Base, said: “I’m delighted to take the top two prizes! The teams worked really hard with their upselling techniques - they’re a credit to Elior Defence.”
The upselling competitions have increased average spend in Portsmouth alone by 0.35p per customer, which adds up an additional £175,000 per year in sales.
