All Elior run MoD sites now hold the Red Tractor licence, supporting the Army’s commitment to back British farmers.
“It’s heartening to know that at times of cutbacks companies like Elior and the Ministry of Defence are still committed to supporting Red Tractor and give quality food to all their customers, clients and personnel,” says Penny Beauchamp, trade marketing manager for the Assured Food Standards scheme.
“There is an increasing interest from consumers in provenance and where their food has come from and the work Elior has completed with the MoD reflects this, and shows Elior’s commitment to working closely with its suppliers in a bid to assure quality production across the whole supply chain.”
The Red Tractor logo gives consumers the guarantee that the produce they’re eating has met high standards of production relating to food safety and hygiene, animal welfare and environmental protection.
Elior fresh food buyer Sandy Anderson adds: “Achieving Red Tractor license at all of our MoD sites is a terrific achievement giving our commitment to sourcing local food from British farmers the seal of approval. We are proud that all our British vegetables and fresh UK meat and poultry has farm to fork traceability. “
Elior provides catering, hotel, leisure and retail services to MoD sites throughout the UK.
