Key Responsibilities:
- Take an active role in developing improved systems/ processes for technical data collection.
- Develop relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that our technical data requirements are understood and delivered.
- Produce various reports for Elior Uk and Group Elior to highlight current technical performance on key objectives i.e. CSR reporting, Biffpack, etc.
- Understand FIR Regulations, allergens, nutritional compositions and general food legislation and be able to communicate and facilitate implementation of any legislative changes.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications for Elior specific food and non food products, ensuring that any changes are communicated to raw material suppliers.
- Owner of product quality in key fresh food categories and Elior bespoke products utilizing technical specifications to benchmark.
- Ensure that key suppliers/ manufacturers meet the required technical standards in line with BRC accreditation through scheduled site visits & audits and drive development of an appropriate action plan which supports agreed corrective and preventative actions as required.
- Develop product testing regimes where appropriate.
- Operate an effective escalation process for supplier quality control non-compliance, including a daily data review and appropriate internal communication as well as maintain clear communications with the raw material supplier.
- Together with the CSR team, support the evaluation of the environmental impact of suppliers and their processes, including carbon footprints and resource usage, to ensure alignment with Elior’s sustainability goals
- To complete objectives set through the performance review process (PDR) and other reasonable ad hoc duties that may be requested from time to time.
What can you bring?
- Minimum 4-5 years work experience in a technical supervisory or management role within the food industry.
- Experience with food and feed safety management systems and with dealing with customer audits and external certification audits (eg. BRC, FSSC22000, ISO9001, UFAS, FEMAS).
- Qualifications: Lead Auditor FSSC22000 and ISO9001 (Essential).
- Minimum Intermediate HACCP or equivalent (Essential).
- Minimum Level 3 Food Safety Qualification (Essential).
- Strong technical knowledge of Microbiological and Analytical requirements for food safety and quality.
- Competent in the use of electronic document management and audit systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (must be able to liaise effectively with internal colleagues as well as suppliers)
- High degree of attention to detail and focus and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Team player, but also self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative.
